Coach Vu Hong Viet directly addresses Xuân Son's performance.

Coach Vu Hong Viet affirms that striker Nguyen Xuân Son remains in good form, even though Nam Đinh's main scorer recently had an unfortunate game during the 1-0 win against PVF-CAND in round 15 of V-League 2025/26.

Statement after the match against PVF-CAND, the strategist of the Nam Đinh team believes Xuân Son's issue is simply a matter of luck. He emphasizes that the 1997-born forward still creates many dangerous opportunities, and on a more favorable day, the number of goals could have been very different.

“I think Son's current form is still good. He had many chances to score and was only lacking a bit of luck. Today, fortune did not accompany Son. On a luckier day, I believe Son would score many goals,” Coach Vu Hong Viet shared.

In reality, Xuân Son was the most prominent attacking player for Nam Đinh in this match. Out of a total of 19 shots by Nam Đinh, Xuân Son alone executed about 7 attempts, accounting for nearly half of the team's opportunities. Among those, three times the ball hit the post or crossbar.

Besides Xuân Son, Coach Vu Hong Viet also expressed satisfaction with the overall team performance. He believes the victory is a deserved reward as Nam Đinh created many chances and continuously pressured the opponent.

“Really very pleased. I think today we deserved the win because we created many opportunities. Despite missing many, the team ultimately secured the victory. That is a great effort from all the players”, he said.

This strategist also frankly admitted that Nam Đinh's recent unstable performance mainly stems from psychological factors. According to him, continuously missing chances in previous matches made the players tense and play with less confidence.

“Recently, I felt the players' psychology was not good. We had many matches creating chances but couldn't settle the game, which created significant psychological pressure. I think that was the biggest issue. And today the team removed that, playing a very good match”, Coach Vu Hong Viet stated.

In the next round, Nam Đinh will face Thanh Hoa, a team striving to avoid relegation. Coach Vu Hong Viet also highly evaluates the Thanh region team.

"Regarding Thanh Hoa FC, I think this is a collective with very high fighting spirit. Despite difficulties in personnel and finances, their spirit is truly excellent. Playing against Thanh Hoa will be very difficult, but playing at home, Nam Đinh still aims for 3 points".
