Identify the next two players called up to the Vietnam U23 team

The Vietnam U23 training camp roster is gradually being revealed with the latest two names coming from Hanoi Club.

According to the latest information, goalkeeper Pham Dinh Hai and center-back Nguyen Canh Tai are the next two players named in the Vietnam U23 squad for the first training camp of 2026. Thus, a total of 9 players have now been revealed in the Vietnam U23 training camp list.

SLNA confirmed that 5 players have been called up, including goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, defender Le Nguyen Hoang, forward Le Dinh Long Vu, and two midfielders Nguyen Quang Vinh and Nguyen Trong Tuan. Except for the newcomer Trong Tuan, the remaining names are quite familiar, having previously participated in Vietnam U23 training camps multiple times.

Notably, goalkeeper Cao Van Binh is a prominent figure, having just helped Vietnam U23 win the SEA Games 33 gold medal and the bronze medal at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup. His continued call-up shows the coaching staff's trust in this young goalkeeper, and he will be the top choice in the goal when Trung Kien moves to the national team.

Besides the SLNA players, HAGL also contributed two names: Dinh Quang Kiet and Nguyen Minh Tam. Among them, center-back Dinh Quang Kiet, who is over 2 meters tall, has been called up to the Vietnam U23 team multiple times by coach Kim Sang Sik in 2025. However, this 19-year-old player has not yet had the opportunity to be included in the final squad for major tournaments like the SEA Games or the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup.

Following an invitation from the Chinese Football Association, the Vietnam U23 team will participate in the CFA Team China International Football Tournament – Xi'an 2026, held in Xi'an city (China) from March 25 to March 31, 2026. The tournament gathers four teams: China U23, Vietnam U23, Thailand U23, and North Korea U23, competing in a single round-robin format to determine the final rankings.
