The Vietnam U20 women's team will have three crucial friendly matches during their training camp in Kunming (China), as part of their preparation for the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Final Round.
According to reports from the coaching staff the Vietnam U20 women's team, the weather conditions in Kunming are currently colder than Hanoi, with temperatures ranging around 17–18°C. However, all living and training conditions for the team are favorable, from the training field, accommodation hotel to the diet, providing a good environment for the players to maintain their preparation pace for the tournament.
During the training camp in Kunming, the Vietnam U20 women's team will play three friendly matches to assess the squad and refine their playing style. Specifically, the team will face a Beijing women's club on March 10, a Korean women's club on March 12, and a Chinese women's club on March 14. After completing the training camp, the entire team will return to Vietnam on March 15 and relocate their base to Ho Chi Minh City to continue the final preparation phase before departing for the tournament. In the final two-week sprint, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team are expected to have two additional high-quality friendly matches with the Uzbekistan U20 women's team on March 24 and March 27.
On March 29, the Vietnam U20 women's team will depart to Bangkok (Thailand) to participate in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Final Round.
In this year's tournament, the Vietnam U20 women's team is placed in Group A alongside China U20 women's team, host Thailand, and Bangladesh. According to the match schedule, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will face China U20 women's team on April 1, Thailand on April 4, and Bangladesh on April 7. These are considered crucial challenges for the Vietnam U20 women's team in their journey to compete for a ticket to advance in the continent's premier tournament for the U20 age group.
